  • The 2018 Tiger Range gets over 200 changes
  • The new Tiger Range also gets a longer list of features and equipment
  • We believe that the 2018 Tiger Range will come to India by mid 2018

A few weeks before EICMA, Triumph Motorcycles had teased the new Tiger 800 and Tiger 1200 range, confirming that they will be launched at EICMA and here they are! Triumph has been manufacturing its Tiger range of motorcycles since 1936. Talking about the Tiger 800 range, the bikes could be called new-generation and get a lot of updates to the looks as well as the mechanicals. The Tiger 800 range consists of the XC, which is the more off-road oriented variant and the XR, which will be the road-biased variant. Both XC and XR will further have sub-variants with various levels of features and equipment.

Overall, the Triumph Tiger 800 range gets over 200 upgrades to the chassis and the engine. The specific target areas include technology, comfort and of course style as well. The biggest update of course, is the new 800 cc Triple, which still makes 94 bhp but the power delivery is more immediate and the exhaust system is now lighter. The first gear has a shorter ratio to enhance better take-off and off-road traction along with low-speed responsiveness. The new features include full colour TFT instrumentation, six riding modes, Brembo brakes up front, handlebar mounted switch cubes backlit buttons, all LED lights, updated cruise control, stiffened chassis and an updated body work as well.

Select models of the 2018 Tiger 800 also get heated grips, heated seats and selectable seat height between 810-830 mm on the Tiger XR and 840-860 mm on the Tiger XC. Additionally, the bike also gets a new 'off-road pro' riding mode which delivers the most focussed off-road setup on a Tiger ever. Also, the windscreen can be adjusted manually in five different ways.

We believe that Triumph will be bringing the new-generation Tiger 800 range to India in the first half of 2018.
