EICMA 2016: Yamaha TZ Concept Teased
Highlights
- Yamaha T7 Concept based on MT-07
- Powered by 75bhp, 689cc parallel-twin engine
- Represents Yamaha's next generation ADV bikes
Yamaha has released images and some additional info about its T7 Concept bike - an idea of the ultimate off-road capable adventure bike which takes a page or few out of actual rally bikes. The result is an adventure, rally-ready concept which could well be one of the most eyeball grabbing bikes of the EICMA motorcycle show.
Based on the MT-07 platform, the T7 Concept could well see production form soon in the future, as a replacement for the Tenere XT660. The 689cc parallel-twin engine of the MT-07 makes around 75bhp and on the T7 Concept, it is mounted on a new frame giving the bike an off-road oriented, purposeful look.
The T7 Concept is equipped with an aluminium fuel tank, 4-projector LED headlight, a carbon fairing and skid plate, custom-made Akrapovic exhaust and high specification KYB suspension.
A team composed of Yamaha's engineers, designers and product planners from the Official Rally Team in France, the R&D in Italy and GK Design in the Netherlands have created the new concept. The T7 represents Yamaha's vision for the next generation of adventure bikes and could well pave the way for a production bike in 2018 - as a Yamaha Tenere 700.
