Vespa will be going electric! Yes, the most well-known scooter brand in the world has teased a concept version of the electric scooter, called Elettrica at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.

Design follows typical Vespa styling - retro, yet with modern touches and the Elettrica gets an all-metal body, with an electric motor that is described as the future of mobility.

Piaggio, the parent company of Vespa, says their experience with electric motors date back several decades and now it's time to put out a production model of the Elettrica. So far, there are no other details available about the Elettrica, but Vespa says the electric scooter will be offered on sale by the second half of 2017.
