EICMA 2016: Suzuki Showcases DL250 V-Strom

- Suzuki V-Strom 250 designed for European market
- Powered by 248cc parallel-twin engine
- No plans of India launch of DL250 V-Strom
The adventure bike market is shrinking, literally, with more and more manufacturers opting for small, lightweight adventure bikes. After BMW unveiled the G 310 GS, it's now Suzuki 's turn.
Suzuki has taken the popular V-Strom ADV bike and has now presented it in a quarter-litre format - the DL250 V-Strom. Designed as a small capacity adventure bike, the V-Strom 250 borrows its underpinnings from the Inazuma, with a 248cc parallel-twin engine which makes around 24.7bhp.
From the design itself, it is apparent that the V-Strom 250 is designed for touring. The subframe rails are designed also to double up as mounts for optional hard-case panniers. The 17-litre fuel tank offers nearly 500km of range, so there's no need for frequent fuel stops. There's a good sized windscreen, high and wide bars and a plush seat for long hours in the saddle.
The LCD screen is large and easy to read, detailing out information in a clear manner, while ABS from Bosch is standard. The V-Strom 250 is likely to be launched in the European market in 2017 but Suzuki has denied any plans of introducing it in India.
