Highlights

The Stellantis muscle car brand, Dodge has revealed photos of the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee Concept which is going to be the first electric car by the iconic American carmaker. This is the one the first times we have heard of the Banshee concept and it is being touted to be the world’s first battery electric muscle car in 2024. This also comes after Dodge announced that its internal combustion-based Charger and Challenger models will be retired after the end of 2024.

The new car is basically an electric Charger. It will have an 800V electric all-wheel-drive propulsion system which is being called the Banshee which in marketing terms is the equivalent or the next generation of its high horsepower brands like the hellcat which is an iconic engine brand by Dodge and Jeep.

While being a muscle car, it will have a focus on aerodynamics but it will retain the Charger’s bulky front end. It will also get a multi-speed transmission called eRupt. Notably, this will also be the first EV with an exhaust system called the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust — a name borrowed from the Fratzog which was also a name of an old three-pronged Dodge logo from the ‘60s and ’70s.

This exhaust system can produce 126db of sound which is equal to the sound levels of a car powered by the Dodge Hellcat engine. Tim Kuniskis, the Dodge CEO says that the electric Banshee exists because of the performance needs of the modern consumer.
