Bentley

Bentley was founded on January 18th, 1919, in Cricklewood, London, United Kingdom. The car company was created by W.O. Bentley and his brother H.M. Bentley who was already in the automobile business before they launched Bentley.

BMW

The original name of one of the most iconic car companies used to be “Bayerische Motoren Werke AG”, which was later shortened to BMW. This company was founded on March 7th, 1916, in Munich, Germany. The founders of BMW were Karl Rapp, Franz Josef Popp, Gustav Otto, and Camillo Castiglioni.

Chevrolet

Formerly known as the Chevrolet Division of General Motors Company, this company was founded on November 3rd, 1911, in Michigan, United States. The company was launched by William C. “Billy” Durant. He named it after his racer friend Louis Chevrolet.

Ferrari

The car company that is an embodiment of perfection was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1947 in Maranello, Italy. The iconic black prancing horse has been famous for decades, and still, it is considered a force to be reckoned with.

Fiat

One of the most recognizable brands coming out of Italy was founded by Giovanni Agnelli on July 11th, 1899, in Turin, Italy. Fiat happens to be a shortcut for “Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino,” which loosely translates to “Italian automobile factory of Turin”, where it was founded.

Ford

The company, whose motto is “Go Further” is one of the greatest car brands ever, which was founded on June 16th, 1903, in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The founder of this company is none other than the legendary Henry Ford. He gave the world new ways of manufacturing car parts and assembling them.

On September 24th in 1948, Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa set up the Honda Automobile Company. Honda originated from Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan. It is current headquarter happens to be in Minato, Tokyo, Japan.

Hyundai

 “Hyundai” is a Korean word that translates to “modernity.” The seeds for Hyundai were firmly established in 1947 by Chung Ju-Yung. It officially started 20 years later in Seoul, South Korea.

Jaguar

The iconic Jaguar that occupies the front of the Jaguar cars has been around for a while. The company was founded on September 4th, 1922, in Blackpool, United Kingdom, by William Lyons and William Walmsley.

Lamborghini

The story of Lamborghini is a stuff of legend. The founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, annoyed by Enzo Ferrari's negligence, created the iconic company in May of 1963 in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy.

Toyota

Named after its founder, Kiichiro Toyota, was founded in Japan on August 28th in 1937. Kiichiro's grandson, Akio Toyota, is now the president of Toyota. The logo is memorable for its simplicity.

Volkswagen

The German Labor Front, a labor organization, operating under Nazi Germany, founded Volkswagen in Berlin, Germany, on May 28th, 1937. Iconic cars like Audi and Porsche are subsidiaries of Volkswagen.
