Datsun Rolls Out 100,000th Car In India

Datsun forayed into India in 2012 and in 5 years has rolled out it's 100,000th car from Nissan India's Oragadam plant in Chennai. The milestone car is none other than the Datsun redigo 1.0-litre, which is also the company's most successful car. The 100,000th car was rolled out in the presence of Jerome Saigot, MD, Nissan India and Colin Macdonald, CEO & MD, Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited.
Jerome Saigot, MD, Nissan India said, "The 100,000th roll out of Datsun is a strong testimony of customer acceptance and their confidence towards our brand, products and value based offerings."
Since 2012, Datsun has launched the Go, Go+ and the redigo. According to the company, more than half of the total sales of Nissan India comes from Datsun.
Saigot added, "On behalf of the Datsun India team, I would like to thank all our customers and dealer partners for the commitment towards our brand."
The Datsun redigo features a tall boy styling which is based on the Yukan design philosophy. Since it's launch in 2016, Datsun offers the redigo in 3 variants- redigo Sport, redigo 1.0-litre and the redigo 1.0-litre Gold Edition, which was launched during the festive season.
