Datsun redi-GO Receives Over 10,000 Bookings in India

Datsun redi-GO marked the Japanese automaker's entry into the highly-competitive entry-level hatchback segment in India. Though it faces sturdy competition from cars like the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Renault Kwid, and Hyundai EON, the redi-GO has managed to perform quite well since its launch in June. In fact, Datsun announced the hatchback has already received over 10,000 bookings. Interestingly, a considerable share of these numbers came from metropolitan areas and Tier 2 cities.
Datsun RediGo, priced between Rs. 2.39 lakh - Rs. 3.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width, 1,541mm in height, and sports a wheelbase of 2,348mm. The hatchback also gets a segment-leading ground clearance of 185mm. It gets a tallboy stance, a short bonnet, hexagonal grille, a high-mounted rear windscreen, boomerang-shaped tail-lamps that round-off its urban cross 'Yukan' design.
Aavailable in a total of five variants, namely, D, A, T, T(O), and S, the Redi GO comes powered by a 799cc three-cylinder petrol engine. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, it puts out 53bhp along with 72Nm of maximum torque. Its fuel-efficiency is rated at 25.17Km/l.
