Buoyed by GO hatchback's success, Nissan's low-cost car brand Datsun has decided to launch the GO+ MPV in the second half of this year. Earlier, it was expected to come by early 2015. Since, festive season is considered to be the best time to launch a new car, we expect Nissan to launch the new MPV during that time only. Built on the GO platform, the GO+ MPV will share the 1.2-litre petrol mill with the hatchback, along with several other components. What might give the Go+ MPV a competitive edge over its closest rival Ertiga is the low pricing because of its sub-4 metre length. As per government norms, cars sizing below 4 metre and diesel engine equal or below 1.5-litre capacity get rebate on excise duty. In the case of the Maruti Ertiga, the size of the vehicle is over 4 metre.

While the petrol model of the Datsun GO+ MPV will source its power from a 1.2-litre engine, the diesel model might feature the Nissan Sunny's 1.5-litre K9K unit. In terms of design, the Go+ looks largely similar to the GO hatchback till the rear wheel, though the former has been given extra space for the third row. The overall length of the car is 3995mm.
