Mahindra Delivers Over 500 Bolero Pik-Ups In J&K Under 'Project Mumkin'

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced handing over more than 500 units of the Bolero Pik-up vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir under the Union Territory administration's 'Project Mumkin' initiative. The special project is a customised livelihood generation programme as part of which Mission Youth, J&K, and the vehicle manufacturers in India are providing financial assistance to the youths in the region to acquire new small commercial vehicles (SCVs) to create avenues for sustainable livelihood. Mahindra says that the company wants to support the youths of J&K with entrepreneurial opportunities to earn a livelihood, promote business ownership and strengthen their trade practices.

Mission Youth, J&K is implementing the scheme through district-level committees constituted for the purpose. Under this initiative, the Mission Youth, J&K, is offering a special incentive of Rs. 80,000 or 10 per cent of the on-road price of the small commercial vehicle, whichever is lower, to support the youths. In addition to that, manufacturers too are offering a discount matching the incentive offered by Mission Youth, J&K.

The company says that the move will help revive the agri produce-daily needs market as these vehicles are primarily used for intercity goods transportation. Individuals, between the ages of 18 and 35, who are interested in availing of this scheme can apply and register with the required documents at the J&K administration's official website.

As for the Mahindra Borelo Pik-up, the pickup truck is offered in two options, the Extra Strong and the Extra Long. Both versions come with a 2.5-litre diesel engine that is tuned to make 75 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Depending on the configurations, the Bolero Extra Strong comes with a payload capacity of 1280-1500 kg, while the Extra Long offers a payload capacity of 1245-1700 kg.
