Just days after petrol and diesel prices were hiked in India, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of compressed natural gas or CNG by Rs. 1 per kilogram, in Delhi and NCR. The price for one kilogram of CNG currently stands at Rs. 59.01 in Delhi, and the new rates came into effect from today, March 24, 2022 onwards. CNG prices in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad stands at Rs. 61.58 per kg, while prices of CNG in Gurugram is Rs. 67.37 per kg.

As for CNG prices in other regions, consumers in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Shimla will now have to pay Rs. 66.26 for a kilogram of CNG, where the same in Rewari is priced at Rs. 69.48 per kg. As of now, CNG rates in Karnal and Kaithal stand at Rs. 67.68 per kg, whereas customers in Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Fatehpur will need to shell out Rs. 70.82 for a kilogram of CNG. As for Ajmer, Pali & Rajsamand, CNG rates in these cities currently stand at Rs. 69.31 per kg.

Earlier on Tuesday, March 22, state-run oil companies increased petrol and diesel prices by up to 90 paise, which were again increased on Wednesday, March 23 by up to 80 paise. The increase in fuel prices came after a hiatus of about four months, as the last hike in petrol and diesel rates were seen in November 2021. Right now, petrol prices in Delhi stand at Rs. 97.01 per litre, while diesel is being retailed at Rs. 88.27 per litre.
