Chinese motorcycle brand Benda has unveiled two new V4 engines at the recent CIMA Motor Show in Chongqing, China. The two engines feature the same design but have two different engine capacities, although they are both liquid-cooled, and are 70-degree V4 units, with DOHC cylinder heads and 16 valves. The larger version, with the codename "BD476" has 1,198 cc displacement and will have 152 bhp at 9,500 rpm, and 121 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. Once launched in production form, possibly in a new heavyweight cruiser motorcycle, this engine is expected to form the basis for China's most powerful motorcycle.

The smaller V4 engine, codenamed "BD453," has a capcity of just 496 cc, and output is much less as well, with maximum power of 56 bhp at 10,000 rpm and peak torque of 45 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Both engines look almost identical, except for the change in displacement, and there are likely to be components which will be shared between the two. So far though, only the engines have been unveiled, and it's unlikely that any new model with either one, or both of the new V4 models will be unveiled anytime before late 2022.
