Toyota Kirloskar Motor has recorded a sales decline of 27.30 per cent on year-on-year (YoY) basis in September 2021 selling 9,284 units as compared to 12,772 units sold in the same month a year ago. That said, Toyota recorded a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 14 per cent as it sold 8116 units in August 2021 while its year-to-date (YTD) sales went up by 98 per cent in the January - September period at 94,493 units as against 47,743 units in the same period a year ago. Toyota models are set to become expensive from today. The Japanese carmaker announced an imminent price hike earlier this week without specifying the percentage or amount that will be increased. The price will vary for different models and variants and the company says that it has tried to keep the hike in check without passing on the entire cost increase burden to the buyers. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has cited rise in input cost as the primary reason of the price hike.
