Car Sales July 2021: Nissan Registers A 443 Per Cent Growth Year-On-Year

The massive success of the Nissan Magnite is paying off for the Japanese automaker, as the July 2021 sales showed. Nissan India reported total sales of 8156 units (domestic + exports) last month, a growth of 443 per cent over 784 units sold in July last year. The automaker also revealed that July 2021 registered the brand's best-ever monthly sales volumes in the last three years. Domestic sales stood at 4259 units, while the company exported 3897 units. Nissan's month-on-month growth stood at nearly 133 per cent when compared to 3503 units sold in June this year.

Speaking about the impressive spike in volumes, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said, "Customer sentiments have improved with the opening of most of the markets. Nissan has achieved its highest sales in the last three years, we have increased the production of Nissan Magnite with the plants third shift operations and are able to serve the pending bookings earlier. Although the challenge of shortage of semi-conductors and components is continuing, our endeavour is to reduce the waiting period further so that more & more customers can enjoy the game-changing SUV the all-new Nissan Magnite earlier."

The Magnite and the Kicks are the only two offerings from Nissan in India. It's the former that attracts the majority of buyers with its feature-rich cabin, sharp looks and aggressive price tag. The company also promises the lowest-in-class maintenance cost at 29 paise/km for 50,000 km. The car comes with a warranty of 2 years/50,000 km, which can be extended for up to 5 years/100,000 km.

Nissan also revealed that the new Magnite has been well-received in Nepal, along with the recently launched LEAF electric vehicle. India is the global production hub for the Magnite subcompact SUV.
