Car Sales August 2021: Hyundai Motor India Records 2.3 Per Cent Domestic Growth

On month-on-month (MoM) basis Hyundai Motor India records a degrowth of 2.44 per cent in the domestic market selling 46,866 units in August 2021.

Hyundai Motor India has recorded a sales growth of 2.3 per cent in the domestic market in August 2021 selling 46,866 units as compared to 45,809 units sold in the same month a year ago. The carmaker's exports also grew by 79.4 per cent at at 12,202 units as compared to 6800 units sold in the same month last year. Overall, in August 2021 Hyundai Motor India's went up by 12.3 per cent at 59,068 units as compared to 52,609 units the Korean brand sold a in August 2020.

Hyundai is gearing up to introduce the Casper micro SUV in India.

Hyundai Motor India registered total sales of 60,249 units in July 2021 reporting a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 45.9 per cent as compared to 41,300 units sold in July 2020. But on month-on-month (MoM) basis it's a degrowth of 1.9 per cent for Hyundai. Domestic sales for the company stood at 48,042 units last month, which again is a MoM decline of 2.44 per cent. That said, it recorded flat growth in exports as Hyundai India sold just 12,207 units in overseas markets in July 2021.

The Hyundai i20 N Line goes on sale in India this month.

The sales were primarily driven by its UV line-up where models like the Creta and Venue continued to perform well and even the Alcazar is adding up to the volumes. The, newer models like the new-gen Hyundai i20 too has been performing well and the sales is expected to go up further with introduction of the new Hyundai Casper and Hyundai i20 N Line, which essentially is a sportier variant of the Hyundai i20.
