Highlights

Car manufacturers spend a lot of time brainstorming and designing logos. These logos are essential for people to recognize and associate with brands. Aesthetic logos tend to draw people's attention towards the products. The German brands have had some of the best designs in the world. Some of their luxury brands belong in the top tier of the automobile industry's history. We shall take a look at these logos and appreciate them!

    Volkswagen

    1937 to Present

This company, coming out of the German Labor Front, is one of the most well-known and reliable brands worldwide. The most recent iteration of the logo consists of the letters “V” and “W” which are the company's initials. During the initial years, the logo looked like a stylized cogwheel designed as a swastika symbol. However, the 2000 logo showed the “V” and “W” as white-colored initials beautifully meshed together that looked bright on the blue background!

    Mercedes-Benz

    1926 to Present

The logo of this iconic company has been the 3-pointed star for a long time. There is a special message hidden behind that design. The 3 points represent land, sea, and air – three terrains that the company looks to dominate. During the merger (Mercedes and Benz) in 1926, the 3-pointed star was enclosed inside a circle, giving it an iconic look.

    Audi

    1909 to Present

Germany's oldest recognized automobile manufacturing company is one of the most iconic brands globally. The logo is as well-known as it gets. The logo is pretty simple and unique in its design – 4 rings overlapping each other. The association of 4 independent car manufacturers – Audi, DKW, Wanderer, and Horch made what we know as Audi today. The four rings symbolize that union!

    BMW

    1916 to Present

The BMW logo is believed to be a rotating propellor by many people, which is just a myth. The importance and significance of the logo lie in the colours. The white and blue colours signify the colours of the State of Bavaria, Germany. The State of Bavaria happens to be the home of BMW! The first time this logo was seen on the streets was way back in 1923, complete with the colour scheme and letters “BMW”.

    Porsche

    1931 to Present

The black horse which appears on the logo of Porsche is taken from Stuttgart's Coat of Arms. This is the city where Porsche started out. Originally, Stuttgart was founded as a place for breeding horses. This made the addition of the horse a guarantee! The logo stands as a symbol of status, wealth and power – qualities synonymous with the brand. The name of the company is etched out in golden letters giving the logo a royal look.
