Bridgestone Launches 'Neurun' Range Of Two Wheeler Tyres For India

Japanese tyre maker Bridgestone has announced its foray into the Indian two wheeler segment with the new 'Neurun' brand of tyres for motorcycles and scooters. The tyre maker is one of the more prominent players in the country's tyre business retailing radial tyres for cars, SUVs, trucks and buses. With two wheelers, the company expands its presence to another ever growing segment that is expanding rapidly.
At the onset, Bridgestone India will be retailing the Neurun brand in five tyre sizes and nine SKUs, which the company says caters to 70 per cent of the market demand. The tyres are available across company outlets pan India from this month onward. The new range largely caters to the commuter segment of two wheelers.
Speaking about the new Neurun range of tyres, Bridgestone India, Managing Director, Mr Kazuhiko Mimura said, "Bridgestone globally is one of the leading two-wheeler tyre manufacturers, a major OE tyre supplier to major motorcycle manufacturers in the world, and was a former sole tyre supplier to 'Moto GP', the world's highest motocycle racing category with ultra-high performance two-wheeler tyre."
Speaking about tapping the Indian two wheeler market, he said, "The launch of two-wheeler tyre brand 'Neurun' is a big leap for us towards achieving our strategic expansion plan of catering to a high volume market and a wider audience reach. Our entry into the ever growing two-wheeler market in India will facilitate us in providing a wider product range and services to our customers. We are looking forward to this exciting new phase and hope to expand with the subsequent growth in the market."
Bridgestone has been around for two decades now in the country, having entered the market back in 1996. India is one of the largest automobile markets globally, which also makes it one of the largest consumers of tyres. Moreover, the two wheeler segment is growth at a CAGR of 8.5 per cent in India with around 150 million vehicles on road, which makes a highly lucrative market for the brand.
