BMW Motorrad India has announced pre-launch bookings for the BMW R 1250 RT, BMW K 1600 GTL, BMW K 1600 Bagger and BMW K 1600 Grand America. The new range of touring motorcycles from BMW Motorrad will be launched in May 2022. All the new and upcoming touring motorcycles from BMW Motorrad can be booked at BMW Motorrad dealerships across India from February 4, 2022. The company is also offering customised finance solutions from BMW Financial Services India for ease of ownership to customers.

The model is powered by the 1,254 cc, horizontally opposed twin cylinder engine which makes 136 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 142 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm.

The BMW R 1250 RT is a touring model with BMW's boxer engine. The model is powered by the 1,254 cc, horizontally opposed twin cylinder engine which makes 136 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 142 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. The engine is capable of a maximum speed of nearly 200 kmph, and gets a constant mesh 6-speed gear box, with helical gear teeth. At the front is the BMW Telelever 37 mm fork and the bike runs of 17-inch wheels. The optional Premium Package includes semi-active electronic suspension, ride modes pro, quickshifter, active cruise control, keyless ignition, tyre pressure monitoring system, Bluetooth connectivity as well as electronic engine compression traction control system.

The BMW Motorrad K 1600 touring models are powered by a 1,649 cc, inline six-cylinder engine which makes 158 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 179 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. The updated engine now gets usable power as low as 1,000 rpm, and two knock sensors on the back of the cylinder bank keep the motor smooth, even with lower octane fuel. Two new lambda sensors, together with the six exhaust manifold sensors monitor the performance of the combustion chambers.

The BMW K 1600 GTL has a standard top box in addition to the hard-case panniers, and is designed for better pillion comfort.

Electronic traction control is now standard and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) ensures the system is working correctly. In Dynamic ride mode, the system allows a little bit of rear wheel spin, compared to Rain and Road modes. The bikes also come with BMW's latest version semi-active suspension, which come with two settings, Dynamic and Road. Cornering aware adaptive LED headlights are standard, and the bikes get a 10.25-inch TFT instrument console, which has a split screen with navigation and connectivity includes both helmet and smartphone options.

The BMW R 1250 RT combines riding pleasure and comfort for long journeys, while the K 1600 models are designed to offer luxurious and high performance touring experience. The new motorcycles will be sold and serviced through BMW Motorrad's premium dealer network across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, Indore, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Raipur, Cuttack, Kolkata and Ranchi, a statement from BMW Motorrad India said.
