BMW Motorrad made its official announcement about operations in the country at the Auto Expo last year. The automaker was initially expected to commence sales of its bikes by the end of 2016, but confirmed later in the year that it will start operations via independent dealerships only by mid-2017.

However, plans for local assembly is still some years away.
Coming to the most affordable model from BMW Motorcycles, the G 310 R streetfighter was unveiled at the end of 2015 and is yet to arrive in the Indian market.
