BMW launched the first generation of the M3 in 1986, which went ahead a revolutionised the mid-range sportscar segment. Since then, the automotive world has seen the M3 evolve across five generations of model. As for the new BMW 30 Jahre M3 limited edition model, it is built on the M3's top-of-the-line competition package, which is currently available for the car. With the competition package, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine now churns out an additional 19bhp bringing the total power output to 450bhp with the peak torque clocked at 550Nm. The engine comes mated to 7-speed M dual clutch transmission allowing the car to do a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.0 sec with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Coming to the car's exterior profile, BMW offers the new 30 Jahre M3 limited edition in a special Macao Blue with the special edition badging. Although the 30 vehicles allotted for UK alone will come in an individual Frozen Silver metallic paint scheme accentuates the elegantly muscular forms of the BMW M3 and in terms of exterior design. The car also features BMW's Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with enhanced features including a black chrome tailpipe trim for the M sports exhaust system as well as a variety of carbon fibre additions. These include a carbon fibre front splitter and trims, mirror caps, rear diffuser and a carbon fibre rear spoiler. Additionally, the special edition model also includes 20-inch M light-alloy wheels with 666 M star spoke design.
As for the interiors, the cabin comes with new sports seats with matching trim and '30 Jahre M3' badging on the headrest. Similar badging can be seen on the door sills and the dash as well. The cabin also features a dash-mounted plaque is numbered to show where each car sits in the 500-unit limited-production run. The '30 Jahre M3' edition also features some high-standard gizmos like - harman/kardon surround-sound system with a total of 16 speakers.
With a price tag of GBP 82,675, the new BMW 30 Jahre M3 limited edition model will be launched in UK in on sale in summer 2016. As mentioned before only 30 models have been allotted for the UK market and another 30 for US and rest for other markets. Whether India will be among those remaining markets is something we hardly believe is possible.
