Bentley to Offer 'Stone' Trim; Materials Sourced From India
Highlights
By using state-of-the-art stone veneer technology, Mulliner is able to produce veneers that are just 0.1mm thick which means that the luxurious trim is light in weight and is translucent which makes the stone's elegant natural grain finish visible to the car's occupants. The stone trim is also very exclusive due to the rarity of the materials used and the exquisite levels of craftsmanship that goes into making them.

The stone is first selected from hand-picked quarries in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan which are historically known for their stonework. Sections of stone are then carved out of larger portions after which they are cured with glass fibre and resin. Finally, the sections are then sent to Mulliner's headquarters in Crewe, England where they are shaped and carefully hand finished by the company's world renowned team of designers and craftsmen.
Speaking with regards to the subject, Geoff Dowding, Director of Mulliner Operations stated,"Bentley is the established expert in the handcrafting of wood and leather, and now we are exploring new, fine and rare materials to offer even more bespoke tailoring and choice to our customers. Stone veneers are another first for Bentley - but only the beginning of what we plan to do with this luxurious and unique material."
The natural finish Stone Veneer is offered by Mulliner on the Bentley Continental and Bentley Flying Spur. The trim is available in 4 colours: galaxy, autumn white, terra red and copper.
