- Benelli India may consider launching the TRK 702 in India
Chinese-owned Benelli has introduced a new adventure bike called the Benelli TRK 702, which will sit above the popular mid-size ADV the Benelli TRK 502. The TRK 702 is built on an all-new 693 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which puts out 75 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 68.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm.
A base model of the Benelli TRK 702 comes with 17-inch cast alloy wheels, and looks somewhat similar to the smaller TRK 502.
The smaller TRK 502 has established itself as the bestselling adventure bike in Italy, the Benelli brand’s original brand. And with the TRK 702, Benelli’s current parent company, China’s Qianjiang Group will look to replicate the success of the TRK 502.
The face looks different than the TRK 502, and comes with a nose-mounted front camera.

The TRK 702 has a similar design like the TRK 502, but offers a more sculpted bodywork, sharper headlights, with a faint resemblance to the Triumph Tiger 900’s face, and a slimmer fuel tank section. The 702 will be offered in two variants, one road-going with 17-inch cast alloy wheels, and the other, more off-road oriented 702X variant with bronze-gold finished wire spoke wheels with a bigger sized 19-inch front wheel.

The new adventure bike has a ground clearance of 190 mm, and a kerb weight of 220 kg, and seat height of 825 mm. A 20-litre fuel tank should offer the ability to cover long distances between refills.
Benelli will be looking to replicate the success of the smaller TRK 502, particularly in Italy, where it's a bestselling model.
To be launched in European markets first, the Benelli TRK 702 comes with heated grips, heated seat, LCD instrument console and a high-definition front camera integrated into the face. So far, there’s no news of Benelli India planning to launch the TRK 702 in India, but it makes for a good option if priced right, and will compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
