Beijing Auto Show Postponed Indefinitely Due To COVID-19 Resurgence In China

Organisers of the Beijing Auto Show 2022 have announced that the motor show, which was earlier scheduled to be held in late April 2022, has been postponed until further notice. The decision has been taken seeing the resurgence of COVID-19 cases across China. As of April 2022, the number of daily COVID-19 cases in the country has crossed 28,000. While earlier, towards the end of March 2022, the organisers had even hinted at the possibility of postponing the show, due to COVID-19.

Commenting on the development, the Secretariat of Auto China said, "We will pay close attention to the development of the epidemic and strive to enhance the event's organisation and service work according to the requirements of the epidemic prevention and control policy." The organisers have said that the new dates will be announced separately later, once the situation is under control.
While we will have to wait for an update on the Beijing Auto Show, in other news, later this month we will see the return of the New York Auto Show. The motor show will be held between April 15 and April 24, 2022, at the Javits Centre, in New York City. Additionally, the organisers of the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) have also announced that the motor show will return next year after three years of absence in February 2023. The show will run from February 14 to February 19, 2023, at the Palexpo Exposition Centre in Geneva, Switzerland.
