    Barrel Motors is gearing up to launch its first electric motorcycle in 2024. Named ‘Veloc-e’, the made-in-India motorcycle is an electric dual-sport bike aimed squarely at a niche of off-road & dirt enthusiasts. carandbike brought you an exclusive reveal of the electric motorcycle earlier, and as the electric bike is getting closer to production form with prototype testing underway, Barrel Motors has released a teaser video for it.

    The motorcycle showed in the teaser video is wearing a camouflage livery, and it is shown doing some high speed off-road stunts. While not much is known about the electric dual-sport motorcycle, it is expected to boast a range of around 150 kms. The start-up is working on a platform that will cater to different segments including dual-sport, racing as well as a premium commuter offering. Giridhar Soundararajan, Managing Director and CEO, Barrel Motors explained that the platform and software can be adapted for different user needs and also cater to multiple market requirements. The company also plans to pitch Veloc-e to the defence for multiple applications including border patrol.

    The Barrel Motors Veloc-e will arrive in two variants - a street-friendly version with the option to switch to a high-performance variant. The company plans to enter the adventure touring and long-distance touring space eventually. The firm is tight-lipped on performance numbers and even the range but Giridhar did suggest the bike will do about 150 km on a single charge.
