The company is eyeing an extremely niche and premium market with its two offerings - Rudra and Pravega, while taking on the motorcycles from Harley-Davidson, Indian and the likes. We recently sampled Avantura's offerings and came back quite impressed as well. The bikes will be making their official debut at India Bike Week 2017 on November 24. With promising offerings in their kit, here's all you need to know about Avantura Choppers.

- Avantura Choppers was conceptualised seven years ago by Gaurav A Aggarwal. Gaurav though, is an avid biker and has a special liking for choppers. After dabbling into custom motorcycles, some of which were created by him, Aggarwal decided to venture into producing American choppers in India for the market. The team is led by Gaurav, Vijay Singh and Amitabh Biswas.
- Avantura roped in former Big Bear Choppers owner Kelvin Alsop as the chief design engineer for its bikes. Kevin is a veteran in building custom choppers in the US and has designed the Rudra and Pravega for the company. The chassis has also been designed by him, albeit keeping in mind the Indian road conditions. Right now, it's the first and only Indian brand to offer street-legal chopper motorcycles.
(Avantura Rudra)
- Both the Rudra and Pravega share the same mechanical components while sporting different designs. The Rudra is closer to the authentic chopper styling with the extensively long wheelbase, massive front wheel and wide rear tyre. The overall design is completely attention seeking. The Pravega gets a slightly more conventional design but is certainly not subtle in any form.
- Avantura Choppers is based outside of Mumbai, where the bikes are manufactured and assembled. The company imports a host of components from OEMs across the globe, while certain components are manufactured at the company's facility.

- Avantura has spared no expense in offering the best on its motorcycles. The bikes use a 2,000 cc V-Twin motor sourced from S&S in the US. The 6-speed transmission comes from Rivera and Progressive provides the suspension on the bikes. The brakes are sourced from French manufacturer Beringer that produces brakes for aircrafts, while the seat is designed and sourced from Mustang in the US.
- Furthermore, the LED headlamp comes from Taiwan and the indicators from Kellermann, Germany. The Avantura bikes use Avon Cobra tyres sourced from the UK. The instrument console is sourced from a company in Japan.
(Avantura Pravega)
- The engine powering the Avantura Choppers is one of the biggest you can get on a motorcycle in the country. The short stroke motor is air-cooled and is said to produce up to 150 Nm of peak torque. The actual power figures are expected to be revealed at IBW.
- Avantura Choppers will also be offering a host of personalization options on its motorcycles. This means, customers can choose from a selection of handlebars, paint options, alloy wheel design among other components to make the bike suit their tastes. None of these will make the model illegal.
(Avantura Pravega)
- The Rudra is priced at Rs. 23.9 lakh, while the Pravega is priced at Rs. 21.4 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
- Pre-bookings for the Avantura Rudra and Pravega will commence post IBW, while a delivery period of three and a half months has been estimated by the company. The company will commence operations with two dealers and plan to expand to nine by 2019.
