Highlights
It's called the Hainan Xiaohuohua; Hainan being the province and Xiaohuohua being best translated as 'Young(ster) Flower'. It's painted in red and and from what we can see, the whole body is curvy; which harkens to the futuristic look of the car.
Chen, who is an automotive engineering student at the South China Agricultural University, took it up as a project and sketched out the designs of the car. He plans to drop out and concentrate on designing such cars. It took him just above a year and about $4740 to design and build it.

Well, his father helped with the materials as he owns a company which makes fibre-reinforced plastics (FRB) and this is what the car is made of. Clearly there are flaws in the way the car look; the gap between the wheel and wheel arches is alarmingly rudimentary and clearly the interior basic, but Chen has managed to give it scissor doors, which form a panel from the wheel arch to the B-pillar and that is what makes this design extremely interesting.

Chen has done the moulding and the modelling himself and the rest of the parts were bought off the internet. In fact even the low-speed electric vehicle (LSEV) platform it's based on was purchased online. There are no details out yet, but top speed is 30km/h and it's more like a sheep in wolves clothing. It's a great effort from someone who's just a student and the passion shows. But well, he's set to raise the bar soon and we'll know more about it soon.
