Highlights

After the Audi RS6 Avant, Audi India's next launch in the country will be the Q3 facelift - on June 18, 2015. The Q3 SUV facelift will feature only cosmetic changes, and will continue to be powered by the same engine as the old model. The Q3 SUV first arrived in India in 2012 as a completely built unit (CBU). However, the German luxury carmaker started locally assembling the Q3 next year i.e. 2013 at its Aurangabad facility.

Exterior changes on the new Audi Q3 SUV will include a new single-frame grille, new bumper with comparatively larger airdams, refurbished head-lamps, and new alloy wheels among others. The head-lamps will be offered along with optional LED lighting. As far as the rear is concerned, the SUV's bumper has undergone some minute changes. Changes in the cabin may include a new steering wheel along with new accents for the dashboard and door trims.

The Audi Q3 facelift will derive power from the 2.0-litre TDI 4-cylinder diesel motor that puts out 177bhp and 380Nm of maximum torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox, while power will be delivered to all the wheels via the company's quattro all-wheel drive system.

As far as the stripped-down version i.e. the Q3 S is concerned, we strongly believe Audi will only benefit from its re-introduction. The old Q3 S was offered with a front-wheel drive system and a 6-speed manual gearbox instead of quattro and automatic transmission. That being said, the new Audi Q3 will compete with the BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class upon its arrival here.

Expected Price: Rs. 28 lakh - Rs. 40 lakh
