Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland on Friday said it has bagged an order worth over Rs. 120 crore from logistics firm Rivigo. The order is for 500 fully-built commercial vehicles equipped with Ashok Leyland's iEGR (Intelligent Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technology that has been indigenously developed to achieve the BS-IV emission norms, the company said in a statement. Ashok Leyland President-Global Trucks Anuj Kathuria said the company has partnered Rivigo since the beginning of their journey.
"Today, our BS-IV iEGR vehicles are giving up to 10 per cent better fuel economy when compared to our BS-III range. This is helping all our customers to improve their total cost of operations by up to 15 per cent, translating to improved profits," he said.
Rivigo founder and CEO Deepak Garg said the fresh order would help the company expand fleet size to over 2,700 vehicles.
"Our journey with Ashok Leyland began in 2014. Just like our idea of disruption in logistics, we see iEGR as a technology disruption which has a huge upside," he said.
