Aprilia Storm 125 Launched In India, Priced At Rs. 65,000

Piaggio Group today launched the new Aprilia Storm 125 cc scooter in India, priced at Rs. 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). First, showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the new Aprilia Storm 125 is now the most affordable model in the Italian two-wheeler marque's Indian line-up, and it is positioned below the existing Aprilia SR 125, which is priced around Rs. 73,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the basic design is largely similar to the SR 125, the new Aprilia Storm does come with some visual characteristics unique to the latter. Like, the new dual-tone paint scheme and the smaller 12-inch wheels with fatter wide all terrain tyres.

Introducing the new Aprilia Storm 125, Diego Graffi, Managing Director and CEO, Piaggio India said, "We are delighted to launch the long-awaited Aprilia Storm in India. Known for its undisputed racing heritage, Aprilia uses cutting-edge technology to design and create premium differentiated products for the youth of the country that reflect the true characters of brand Aprilia. Storm has a dynamic exterior theme with vibrant colours, specially designed wide terrain tyres, 125 cc engine and customisation through accessories that make it unique."
Powering the new Aprilia Storm is a 124.5 cc, single-cylinder 3-valve engine that, already powers the SR 125. The motor is tuned to churn out a maximum of 9.52 bhp at 7250 rpm and develop a peak torque of 9.9 Nm at 6250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. As for the mechanical bits, the scooter comes with hydraulic telescopic front forks up front and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The Storm 125 also gets a set of new 12-inch black alloy wheels the come with drum brakes both at the front and back, 150 mm and 140 mm units respectively, assisted by a combi braking system (CBS).

The Aprilia Storm comes is offered in two colour options, this Matte Red and the Matte Yellow shade, seen at the Auto Expo. Both colour options are complemented with bold black graphics on the front apron and side panels. The entire head unit is painted in black with the Aprilia logo in contrast white. The new Aprilia Storm will be available in all Vespa and Aprilia showrooms across India from today.
