Aprilia has launched the 250 cc sportbike, the 2021 Aprilia GPR250R in China. The quarter-litre sportbike has been launched with several styling influences from Aprilia's bigger sportbikes, including the Aprilia RSV4. The updated 250 cc sportbike (it was first unveiled in 2019) features all-LED headlights, and also features air intakes below the headlights. The overall bodywork and design has become sharper than before, and the new Aprilila GPR250R has been priced in China at CNY 26,800 (approximately Rs. 3.09 lakh).

The engine is mounted on a perimeter frame linked to a 41 mm upside down front fork, rear monoshock with pre-load adjustability and asymmetrical swingarm. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm front disc and a 218 mm disc at the rear wheel.

So far, there's no word on Piaggio India launching the Aprilia GPR250R in India, and the machine is intended for China and other South East Asian markets. India will likely get a 300 cc version, which will feature more practical styling, possibly a Tuono model and a RS 300 model with full-fairing but comfortable ergonomics. Piaggio India has for long been talking about developing a 300 cc motorcycle for the Indian market specifically. While the pandemic seems to have put a spanner in the works, Piaggio India could certainly introduce a small 300 cc motorcycle model, maybe as early as later this year.
