Cars are becoming feature rich and Mahindra is one such company which has kept its car up-to-date. It was in June 2015 that we told you that the company is all set to bring in Android Auto in both the XUV500 and Scorpio as updates in the cars in 2017.

The move comes after Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it had become a member of the Open Automotive Alliance (OAA), a global alliance of vehicle manufacturers, with leading edge technology, committed to bringing the Android platform to cars. Under the aegis of this association with Google and the OAA, Mahindra is getting ready to provide its customers with the next level of connectivity through Android Auto.

As we've seen in many cars in India like the Hyundai Elantra, Skoda and even the latest Honda Accord. So, clearly the addition of this platform in the XUV500 and the Scorpio will make a whole lot of difference.

Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra, said, "We will be offering Android Auto in our flagship models of XUV500 and the Scorpio as well as on our future platforms."

Mahindra currently offers the Blue Sense APP which enables customers to connect with the vehicle using Bluetooth technology. With the integration of Android Auto, the owners of Mahindra vehicles will have in-car access to Google Maps and other specially adapted Google Services and third party apps via an infotainment screen through simplified interactions.
