- Google is adding limited number of users at a time
- Google has warned that the app is likely to be unstable at times
Google has opened a beta program for the latest version of Android Auto on the Google Play Store. This is a phased rollout for the beta program of the google phone beaming service. It also operates tests for key apps. Via the beta program, members will get early access to new features and updates to Android Auto before they are released to the general public. This way users will get specific updates to the Android Auto app on the phone and that will enable users to test new features for their phone and vehicle around the world. Users can also send feedback by doing the following:
Android Auto app > Menu > Help & feedback > Send feedback
It also enables users to check diagnostic information and other telemetry to diagnose potential bugs. As with all betas, Google warns that it could be unstable.
"We would love to have you participate in the beta testing program to test features before they're available to the general public. We ask that you don't publicise or share the features you're testing until they're publicly available," said Google in the official release.
To sign up, users can visit the opt-in page while signed in to the Google account and select "become a tester". After a few minutes, the user should visit the Play Store and the Android Auto update should be visible.
Google has added Android Auto to the beta program alongside the Google app, Maps, Waze Messages, Phone, YouTube, Gboard, Carrier services, Android System web view, digital welding and Google Play services.
