The 2016 Honda Civic, which might be re-launched in India in the coming months, has been photographed while testing in Thailand. This is the first time that the new Honda Civic has been spotted in an Asian country after its recent launch in the US.

In the spyshot (below) - courtesy of Honda Accord Club, Thailand - the car is seen with a silver wrap over its body and seems to be fitted with a rear wing, which could be an optional accessory. Unfortunately, only the rear-end has been photographed so far, and from what we can make out, it seems to be in line with the US-spec Honda Civic. Of course, there is no official word yet from Honda about the car's launch.

The sedan shares its design cues with the Civic Coupe concept, which was unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show. It gets a low-slung front fascia with a stylish chrome grille and sleek headlamps. The 2016 Honda Civic has muscular styling cues all over its exterior and the side profile has aggressive character lines. The rear-end of the sedan stands out as well with its 'boomerang' tail-lamps.

The latest model of the Civic is available with two engine options in the US - a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated VTEC DOHC four-cylinder petrol engine with 158hp of power and 187 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC petrol mill with 174hp and 220Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual (for the 2.0 variant only) and a CVT gearbox.

We can expect the India-spec version to be launched with a diesel engine option as well.
