All-New 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Plug-In Hybrid SUV Revealed

SUV-makes Jeep has unveiled the all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV. The electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee has been revealed during Stellantis EV Day 2021, and the company says that it is another step toward expanding electrification and strengthening the Jeep brand's vision of "Zero Emission, 100% Freedom". The unveiling also coincides with the Jeep brand's 80 anniversary. This is the fourth plug-in hybrid vehicle from the Stellantis-owned American SUV maker after the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, Compass 4xe and Renegade 4xe.

Over the past 30 years, the Grand Cherokee moniker has become the one of the most awarded SUVs from Jeep, earning countless industry accolades and achieving more than 7 million in global sales, The fifth generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be officially unveiled at the 2021 New York International Auto Show and will include the full range of the Grand Cherokee lineup, including the plug-in hybrid version.

Powertrain specifications and other details have not been revealed as of now, and we expect them to be announced closer to the official global unveiling of the SUV. We also expect the SUV to come with the new 4WD electric mode, which was introduced on the Wrangler 4xe earlier this year. The system allows the SUV to be taken off-road without using any fuel, functioning purely on electric charge.
