History 

In 1915 the building, which served as an airport terminal, houses the V8 hotel. The building was used as a flight docking station of the Graf Zeppelin in the 1920s. During WW2, it was also the home to one squadron of ME-109 fighter aircraft. The location made it an easy target and was shattered by bombing by the end of WW2. 

The beautiful V8 hotel opened in 2009 and required rebuilding work and breakneck renovations. The V8 occupies only half of the building which housed the terminal, and Meilenwerk, an auto museum, uses the other half.

The hotel offers a free ride to the Mercedes-Benz factory if you plan to pick up your new car. You will find cars to greet you at the entrance, and the hotel is so enticing that even the locals visit the hotel to stay in for a night or two. 

The rooms are equipped with car parts and memorabilia, and all the car parts are real. For example, the drive-in cinema hotel room has a big-screen TV, starry roof, and studio lamps. The nose of a vintage car is grafter into the footboard, which offers a surreal experience to the visitors.
