1. Toyota Innova Crysta
Toyota Innova Crysta, the latest model of the Japanese automaker's popular MPV, was launched in India earlier this year. The Innova Crysta is gets two engine options across four grades with manual transmission (ZX, VX, GX, and G) and two grades with an automatic transmission (ZX and GX). Toyota offers both 7- and 8-seater options on the Innova Crysta, though the 8-seater is available only on GX and GX Automatic (Petrol) and G, GX, GX Automatic and VX Automatic (Diesel).
2. Maruti Suzuki Omni
The Maruti Suzuki Omni was launched in 1985 and has been a staple on the country's roads since then. Powered by a 796cc engine, the Omni gets both 8- and 5-seater variants, high-roof, sliding doors, and versatile space. Just so you know, Maruti Suzuki has sold 15.7 million units of the Omni, thus making it one of the top selling 8-seater car in India.
3. Mahindra Xylo
India's largest utility vehicle manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, launched the Xylo multi-purpose vehicle in January, 2009. Based on the automaker's Ingenio platform, Mahindra Xylo gets the following engine options: a 2.5-litre mDI CRDe diesel and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. Its 8-seater variant with front facing seats is available with all the trims on offer (D2, D4, H4, and H8).
4. Mahindra Bolero
First launched in August 2000, the Bolero has always been deemed 'tough, rugged, and durable' by the masses. It's a 9-seater car in India and houses a 2523cc m2DiCR turbo diesel engine under the hood.
5. Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra launched the all-new Scorpio in September 2014, though the SUV has been around for a while now. The Scorpio gets the 8-seater option only on the S6+, S8, S10, and S10 AT variants, thus limiting its engine option to the 120bhp 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine (1.99-litre mHawk in Delhi-NCR).
