India has been hosting single events and rally championships for decades now. At least 6-7 rally championships are held in India every year, across states. Here is a list of 5 best rally championships in India that are regularly conducted.
Indian National Rally Championship
The Indian National Rally Championship was given national status in 1988 and its inception goes back to the year 1970. This was the first Monte Carlo-style event stretched over 7000 KM. It started from Chennai, then Calcutta, Delhi, Mumbai, and concluded in Nagpur. The participants had to face terrains like tarmac, river beds, and deserts, making it one of the best rally championships in India.
Ultimate Dessert Challenge
The UDC was first conducted in 2014 by Dune Adventure Sports Club in Bikaner, Rajasthan due to its desert-based concept. This sport is a high-energy off-roading contest, which completed its 6th edition in the year 2021. This competition follows the format of a closed-circuit rally under two categories: off-road and x-cross. Off-Road has 6 classes and X-Cross has 4 classes where special vehicles or modified SUVs are used.

Dakshin Dare
This challenge is quite amazing as it is conducted in difficult-to-handle terrains of Karnataka. This event began in 2009 under the basic format of the Time-Speed-Distance cars rally, but from the very next year, extreme bikes and cars were introduced to the event. This rally touches the slush and gravel terrains of South India and sometimes Maharashtra and Goa. This is a 5-7 rigorous event spread over 2000 kms.
Rainforest Challenge
What began as a 7 days off-road rally in 2014, became one of its kind - the best rally championships in India because of its location. Goa is known for the party-state of India but this event has become part of its sports culture. This is considered the most challenging event as participants have to do off-roading through 30 stages on the rocky, hilly terrains of the forests in Goa, even during the monsoons.
