The New York International Auto Show 2022 (NYIAS) is back at the Javits Center in Manhattan after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, with noteworthy world debuts, including both production models and concept cars. The NYIAS is an important auto show, especially for the North American market, as it readies for the new and upcoming cars that were only recently revealed in Europe. For 2022, the organisers have arranged a layer of activities ranging from EV test drives, a mobility area, separate zones for supercars, hypercars, and luxury vehicles, as well as automotive aftermarket stores. Additionally, the NYIAS 2022 will play host to the World Car Of The Year (WCOTY), as the winners will be announced on April 13, 2022. Let's look at some of the most important reveals that you should watch out for.

Deus Vayanne electric hypercar
An Austrian start-up company, that goes by the name of Deus Automobiles will reveal its flagship electric hypercar called the Deus Vayanne, built in tandem with Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering. Although in the prototype stage, Deus Automobiles says the Vayanne electric hypercar will most certainly stand out in the overcrowded electric hypercar space. The company did not reveal how it hopes to achieve that though. Another electric pipe dream it seems!
Ford Bronco Raptor
Earlier this year, Ford showed its most powerful Bronco designed and engineered by Ford Performance. Called the Ford Bronco Raptor, the 2022 model will make its North America debut tomorrow and will eventually join the ranks of its Raptor high-performance off-road vehicle franchise, which also includes the F-150 Raptor for North America and Ranger Raptor for global markets.
Kia Niro
Unveiled late last year, the Kia Niro will make its North American debut in a few hours, which sees a huge design departure from the outgoing model. There's no word on whether the exterior and interior would remain unchanged, but we expect minor tweaks, nevertheless. Kia Niro will come with a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery-electric versions however, the specs will be disclosed at the reveal.
Kia Telluride
Kia teased the refreshed Telluride three-row SUV only last week for its North American debut, a day after the Hyundai Palisade was teased in its facelifted avatar. Anyhow, the 2023 Kia Telluride will feature cosmetic changes, both to its externals and internals, but the highlight would be the new side-by-side touchscreens, that earlier debuted with the Kia Sorento and Kia Sportage.
Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV
The German carmaker will reveal its latest electric model on April 19, during the public days of the NYIAS, and so we will have to wait a little longer to catch a glimpse of it. However, the company did tease its silhouette last week based on the same design language but with a more spacious cabin and higher ground clearance, of course. The 7-seater electric SUV will lead the charge for Mercedes-Benz's next wave of electric vehicles. The EQS sedan, however, is slated for an India debut soon.
Nissan Ariya
Nissan Ariya has been to North America before. As a concept though, when it was revealed at the CES 2020, the Nissan Ariya electric crossover has come a long way since then. The Tesla rival will offer a bold design, that is typically Nissan, with more than 500 km range on tap, alongside a powerful version also in the talks. Nissan calls the Ariya the spiritual sibling of the Nissan GT-R.
Toyota bZ4X
Toyota's first volume electric car is well-versed in the North American hemisphere, as it made its debut only last year at the LA Auto Show and will now make its New York debut as well. It is also the first Toyota to use a dedicated battery electric vehicle platform which is why it is being considered its first EV, with more than 500 km range from a single charge.
Toyota GR Corolla
Toyota recently took the curtains off the souped-up 300 bhp GR Corolla, which is also on its way to Manhattan this week. The GR-badged Corolla receives a comprehensive set of upgrades with the underpinnings of an even more powerful derivative of the GR Yaris' 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine.
Volkswagen ID Buzz
Volkswagen's electric MPV made its European debut last month and is already en route to its North American preview, as the ID. Buzz is based on the electric avatar of the iconic VW Bus. Built on the Group's Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB) platform, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz will be offered in the ID. Buzz version for passenger segment, and the ID. Buzz Cargo version for commercial vehicle segment. Both versions measure 4,712 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width, and are at least 1,937 mm tall. However, they both come with a long wheelbase of 2,988 mm.
Hyundai Palisade
Like the Kia Telluride, the Hyundai Palisade will also get a refresh tomorrow, as the updated model will feature an even larger grille and new light clusters among other visual changes. The teasers also suggest the Palisade facelift will get a flatter more upright nose. More details will be revealed on April 13.
Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer LBW
We've been hearing some chatter regarding the American carmaker in recent weeks. About making an announcement at the biggest auto show on that side of the hemisphere. And the moment could be away for only a matter of hours, as Jeep will, fingers crossed, reveal the long-wheelbase versions of the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Added with the L suffix, both the Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L are long overdue for the American market, and we won't be surprised if the carmaker showcases these.
