Triumph Motorcycles India has announced that pre-bookings for the 2021 Speed Twin have now begun in India. Interested customers can pre-book the new and updated Speed Twin by paying Rs. 50,000.

Triumph Motorcycles India has announced that pre-bookings for the 2021 Speed Twin have now begun in India. Interested customers can pre-book the new and updated Speed Twin by paying Rs. 50,000. The motorcycle was listed on Triumph's India website. We expect the new Triumph modern classic motorcycle to be launched in India within a month or so. Prices in India are expected to be around Rs. 10 lakh or so (ex-showroom). The 2021 Triumph Speed Twin gets significantly updated with new graphics, updated engine and cycle parts along with revised geometry as well.

The 1,200 cc Bonneville 'high power' engine now makes 3 bhp more, with a 500 rpm higher redline, and the torque coming in 500 rpm lower in the revs, making for a wider power band. Maximum performance of 99 bhp is achieved at 7,250 rpm, while peak torque of 112 Nm is at 4,250 rpm. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox.

Triumph has updated the suspension on the motorcycle, with the front end now getting 43 mm Marzocchi forks with cartridge damping while the rear gets twin shocks with adjustable preload. Braking hardware is also improved with new higher specification Brembo four-piston M50 radial monobloc callipers gripping twin 320 mm discs. At the rear wheel is a Nissin two-piston calliper with 220 mm disc. The steering geometry has been changed as well, with a half-degree sharper rake and 2 mm shorter trail.

The 17-inch alloy wheels feature a new 12-spoke design, and are shod with new Metzeler Racetec RR tyres, which are said to offer better grip, precision and stability. The Speed Twin gets three riding modes, Rain, Road and Sport, which have also been updated for 2021. The classic 3D analogue twin-pod instrument console now gets a digital screen with menu which can be accessed by a scroll button on the handlebar.

In terms of design, the motorcycle has been updated with new graphics on the fuel tank, the headlight mounts are anodised and the silencers now get a brushed Aluminium finish, a Monza-style fuel-filler cap and an anodised swingarm. Needless to say, the motorcycle looks much more premium and sporty, with all the updates.
