The 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV breaks cover just months after the new-gen Outlander was unveiled. The electrified version of the Mitsubishi Outlander is set to make its world premiere on October 28 which is when we'll get its technical details and for now we get a look at its design. Well! The new Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In-Hybrid (PHEV) looks stunning and almost identical to the standard Outlander and we have to say that the Japanese carmaker has done the split headlight design very aesthetically. The only difference in its design is the extra housing ton incorporate the charging port and hybrid badging on the front doors and tailgate.

Even on the inside it's a familiar place. The cabin too looks identical to the Mitsubishi Outlander and only the digital instrument cluster has been modified with a dedicated section for the PHEV powertrain that shows the electric drive range and the battery's condition. The cabin does look premium in terms of materials and fit & finish and is also equipped with all modern creature comforts. It's a three-row or seven-seater setup on the inside which is new. Earlier, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was only a five-seater and the battery pack would eat into the boot space.

As already mentioned, technical details of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is yet to be revealed and is expected to be shared on October 28. That said, it is expected to get a bigger battery pack this time around, offering better electric range. A performance-oriented variant is also rumoured and is expected to bring back the 'Evolution' moniker and company's in-house Ralliart tuning division.
