2021 BMW X1 20i Tech Edition: All You Need To Know

The BMW X1 facelift was launched in India last year when quite a few additions were made the features department and also the styling was tweaked to make it look a bit more angular. Well now, instead of updating the entire range with more features, BMW has introduced a specific tech edition on the BMW X1 which gets a bigger touchscreen, an advanced audio system and more. The idea is to keep the range relevant still for its segment, while the new-generations of its rivals have already arrived. Here's everything you need to know about the BMW X1 20i Tech Edition which has been priced at Rs. 43 lakh ex-showroom.

1. The BMW X1 20i Tech Edition is available in two body colours - Alpine White, Phytonic Blue (Metallic) with Sensatec Oyster Black upholstery.
2. The biggest update on the Tech Edition is a larger 10.25-inch central infotainment screen. The high-resolution 10.25-inch unit us a touchscreen, but it does retain the rotary iDrive controller on the centre console
3. Other variants of the X1 get an 8.8-inch infotainment screen as standard, which is a tad smaller compared to what we are seeing in its segment rivals.

4. BMW has also added a new head-up display, wireless charging function and a new 205W Hi-Fi Sound System to the X1 as part of the Tech Edition update.
5. Standard elements like the stack on buttons on the dashboard, analogue instrument cluster and even the steering wheel have been carried over. Standard features also include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with six colours, electric adjustable front seats with memory function, reclined rear seats with centre armrest and wireless Apple CarPlay among others.
6. Safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and electric parking brake with auto hold among others.
   

   The BMW X1 Tech Edition is a petrol only variant.

7. In terms of looks, it remains identical to other variants and continues with elements like a large single piece kidney grille, sleek sweptback LED headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels among others.
8. Under the hood, the X1 Tech Edition gets the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 189 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque and is mated to seven-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
9. It also features steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and launch control.
10. The BMW X1 20i Tech Edition is available only in petrol iteration and there is no diesel variant on offer.
