Having launched the 5 Series facelift just last month, BMW India has introduced the M5 Competition facelift in the country priced at Rs. 1.62 crore (ex-showroom). The performance sedan comes to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and can only be booked online. Compared to the pre-facelift version, the 2021 BMW M5 Competition is now Rs. 7 lakh more expensive and also comes with visual tweaks, suspension, and an updated infotainment system that makes the car all the more exciting.

The 2021 BMW M5 Competition gets new L-shaped DRLs with Laserlight, it also gets new alloy wheels and revised bumpers and taillight.

The new M5 Competition blends a business sedan's everyday usability with unbeatable sports car dynamics more effectively than ever."

Visual upgrades on the 2021 BMW M5 Competition include the Laserlight headlamps with L-shaped DRLs, revised taillights, as well as reworked bumpers with larger intakes. The rear sports a new apron and diffuser design along with revised exhaust tips. Buyers get to choose from three different 20-inch alloy wheels. The cabin layout remains the same but gets the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Drive 7. It now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as part of the upgrade. Other features include ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, hands-free parking, Harman Kardon sound system and more.

The new standard Live Cockpit setup with iDrive7 comes as the most prominent update on the inside.

BMW has also tweaked the 2021 M5 Competition's chassis for more dynamic handling and the suspension gets adaptive dampers. Power, on the other hand, comes from the same 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 612 bhp and 750 Nm of peak torque. 0-100 kmph comes in 3.3 seconds. The engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. You do get the option to choose between four-wheel drive or a rear-biased set-up. The M5 Competition gets multiple drive modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and the new Track mode.
