The compact SUV has seen quite a few launches in India this year and all of them in a way have targeted the undisputed leader of the segment- the Hyundai Creta. It is yet the segment bestseller, but has aged over the time and feels lukewarm in front of the fresh competition. That said, the Korean carmaker has already started testing the 2020 Hyundai Creta in India and its spy images have again surfaced online. It is based on the second generation Hyundai iX25 and extensively borrows design cues from its global counterpart.

Despite the car is heavily camouflaged, some elements like the triangular LED tail lamps and new alloy wheels are apparent. The tailgate is sculpted with sharp lines and the rear number plate housing has moved up. Previous spy shots also gave us a slight idea of its face and design elements like the cascading grille which is flanked by DRls and LED lamps are easily identifiable. Moreover, the next-gen Creta has grown in dimensions but retains the overall curvy silhouette.

As you must be aware by now, Kia and Hyundai are sister companies and the next-generation Creta will share its platform and powertrain with the Seltos. So, expect the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine to make its way in the Creta as well. Most probably, Hyundai India will showcase the next-gen Creta in India at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo.
