2019 Honda Insight Hybrid Sedan Teased Ahead Of 2018 NAIAS

The Honda Insight Prototype will make its world debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 15, 2018 as the predecessor to the all-new 2019 Honda Insight. The five-seater sedan is positioned above the Civic in Honda's passenger car line-up. The all-new Insight comes with Honda's two-motor hybrid system, making it one of the newest electrified vehicles in the line-up. The latest generation Honda Insight happens to be America's first hybrid vehicle introduced in 1999. It was also the first Honda vehicle to utilize Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system, which made it fuel efficient and light in weight.

The all-new 2019 Insight takes a new approach with the styling, packaging, premium features and performance; making it completely different than its predecessor. Now in its 3rd generation, the Honda Insight is the company's fifth electrified vehicle brought to the market over the past year. This is in line with the company's 'Honda Electrification Initiative' which will see two-thirds of Honda's global vehicle sales electrified vehicles by 2030.

The 2019 Honda Insight will be manufactured at Honda's Greensburg, Indiana plant, alongside Civic and CR-V using domestic and globally sourced parts - will join the Clarity series (Clarity Fuel Cell, Clarity Electric and Clarity Plug-in Hybrid) and the all-new 2018 Accord Hybrid, arriving globally early next year.

While Honda has not revealed any of the technical specifications of the 2019 Honda Insight, the Japanese auto-majors will divulge more details at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.
