Hyundai Creta Facelift Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 9.43 Lakh

Hyundai India has introduced the much anticipated 2018 Creta facelift in the country with prices starting at Rs. 9.43 lakh for the petrol version, while the diesel range starts at Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift gets revised styling, updated interiors, dual-tone paint schemes and new features on offer. The new Creta facelift is Rs. 15,000 more expensive than its predecessor.

The Hyundai Creta facelift has been launched in the country priced from Rs. 9.43 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 9.99 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom pan India) for the diesel versions. The 2018 Creta facelift continues to be offered with three engine options but gets a host of changes including visual tweaks, new dual-tone paint scheme and new features as well. This is the first comprehensive upgrade to the Hyundai Creta since its launch in 2015 and will help keep the extremely popular compact SUV fresh amidst new and updated offerings like the Tata Hexa, Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500 facelift. The new Hyundai Creta facelift is Rs. 15,000 more expensive than its predecessor for the base petrol version; whereas the top-spec SX (O) petrol is more expensive by Rs. 57,000. On the other hand, prices for the base diesel variant remains unchanged while the top-spec SX (O) trim is pricier by Rs. 44,000.

Keeping up with the market, Hyundai has also launched an orange paint scheme with a dual-tone option on the 2018 Creta facelift.  Interestingly, the automaker has skipped the SX+ trim altogether that was available on the predecessor, and the SX (O) is the new range-topping variant across the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.4-litre diesel is offered on the E+ and S trims.

As part of the upgrades, the 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift gets a slightly updated front, featuring the new cascade grille with a chrome bezel that makes it look a bit more upmarket. The bumpers are new and get a dual-tone finish with skid plates. The fog lamps have also been revised and are now surrounded by new LED DRLs, while you also get new bi-functional projector headlamps, positioning lamp, LED side indicators, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and a shark fin antenna as part of the changes. At the rear, the Creta facelift sports updated taillamps, which look good.

In addition, the Hyundai Creta facelift also gets a glossy A-pillar on the top trims, while there are two new dual-tone paint options on offer - Marina Blue and Passion Orange along with new Dual Tone Passion Orange and Black. You can also add the new Tangerine Orange Interior colour pack to spice up the cabin.

Hyundai has also updated the feature list on the 2018 Creta facelift that includes first-in-segment smart electric sunroof and 6-way powered driver seats, smart key band and wireless phone charger. You also get speed sensing auto door lock, sliding front armrest and height adjustable driver's seat, which is offered as standard. There's also cruise control, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink, along with the iBlue Audio Control App.

Hyundai has improved the safety quotient on the Creta facelift with six airbags on the top trims, while all variants get dual airbags and ABS as standard. The compact SUV also comes with ESC, VSM, and Hill Assist Control, as well as the new front seatbelt pre-tensioners. Power on the 2018 Hyundai Creta facelift comes from the same 1.6-litre petrol engine tuned for 121 bhp, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel produces 126 bhp of max power. Both engines are paired to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. There's also the more fuel efficient 1.4-litre diesel with 88 bhp on offer.

Hyundai is offering a warranty of 3 years/unlimited km on the 2018 Creta, along with Roadside Assistance. Bookings for the Hyundai Creta facelift have already begun while deliveries will start towards the end of this month.
