Leaked images are that of the Japanese-spec version that gets cosmetic upgrades and new features as well. The 2018 Honda HR-V facelift will debut in Japan sometime in February this year and the model could make it to India as well, sometime next year. The HR-V will sit above the BR-V in Honda India's line-up and rival to the Jeep Compass as well as the Hyundai Creta.

Coming to the changes, the 2018 Honda HR-V facelift gets subtle tweaks to the exterior style. The model largely remains the same but gets a larger front grille and a chunky black bar with a larger Honda logo. The crossover also comes with full-LED headlamps, and larger fog lamps and the bumper has been reworked as well. While images for the rear aren't revealed yet, expect to see reworked LED taillights and additional chrome inserts on the tailgate.

Under the hood, the 2018 Honda HR-V facelift is likely to continue using the same engines including a 1.5-litre petrol, 1.8-litre petrol, 1.6-litre diesel and the 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid. Power figures are likely to remain unchanged on the model. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Post its debut in Japan, the Honda HR-V facelift is expected to debut globally later this year.
