The Renault Captur's price in India starts at Rs. 9.99 lakh, going up to Rs. 13.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), for the range-topping Platine diesel variant, which is exclusive to the Indian market. These are introductory prices and will be revised in few months. It's the second compact SUV from Renault India after the Duster and is based on the same M0 platform as well. Having said that, the Renault Captur is bit more on the premium side in terms of styling, features and equipment and here's everything you need to know about Renault's latest offering.

The Renault Captur is designed as a crossover using the French car maker's global design language and has been positioned as a premium offering. India gets the Captur (with a C) moniker, same as the European version, unlike the Russian version that uses 'K' in its name. The design is quirky on the compact SUV with the bold grille and diamond logo up front, but looks smart and likeable, and very urban too. While the standard name is Captur, Renault India has added the 'Platine' suffix to the top-end variants to differentiate more effectively.

The Renault Duster will operate in a highly competitive space against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 among others. The model stands out with its fresh appeal and tried and tested platform, which should bring more buyers to Renault dealers.
