Nissan Terrano facelift sees no major design changes
  1. Visually, the 2017 Nissan Terrano facelift remains largely similar to the older version apart from some minor cosmetic additions. The face of the car sees some considerable updates like a restyled grille with a new chrome element on both sides. The headlamps have also been slightly updated and now you get LED daytime running lights as well. The front bumper has also been redesigned and now you get slightly larger foglamps in chrome surrounds.
  2. Nissan says that the 2017 Terrano facelift gets 22 new features which include some major additions like – the new Sandstone brown colour scheme, a touchscreen infotainment system and electrically operable ORVMs with integrated turn signal, along with small addition like the chrome finished emergency brake lever.

  3. Nissan now also offers a more stylish looking black and brown dual tone interior along with new fabric or leather upholstery, depending on the variant. The car now also offers a much-needed drive-side armrest along with centre armrest for the rear seat with cup holders. The SUV also gets illuminated buttons for power windows.
  4. The equipment list has also been upgraded as now the Terrano comes with an updated steering wheel with mounted controls for telephony and audio. The dashboard design remains the same but you now get a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice recognition sourced from the facelifted Renault Duster.

  5. On the safety front, the Terrano Facelift comes with dual front airbags on all variants, save the base XE model. Similarly, ABS with EBD is offered in all variants above the base trim whereas, electronic stability programme (ESP) is offered only with the top-of-the-line XVD PRE variant with the automated manual transmission (AMT) unit.
  6. The 2017 Nissan Terrano sees no change in the variant list and continues to come in a total of 5 trim options – XE D, XE P, XL D (O), XV D PRE and XV D PRE (AMT). This means there is only one petrol variant on offer – the XE P, while rest are all diesel models.
  7. The Terrano continues to use the same petrol and diesel engine options - 1.6 litre K4M petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. While the petrol engine makes 103 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque, the diesel engine comes in two states of tune – 84 bhp with 200 Nm of peak torque and a more powerful 108 bhp and 243 Nm of peak torque.
  8. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox that does duty on the petrol model and the 84 bhp diesel variant, whereas the 108 bhp diesel trim gets the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit.
  9. Nissan also says that the 6-speed advance auto transmission or the AMT is a new feature too. That said it was actually introduced in October 2016 in the pre-facelift Nissan Terrano AMT, which we have already driven shared our impressions as well.
  10. The prices of the lower models remain unchanged compared to the pre-facelift Terrano but there is a price increase in the higher variants. The base variant of both the petrol and the diesel models are priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh, while the top-end manual variant priced at Rs. 13.6 lakh and the top-end AMT variant is priced at Rs. 14.2 lakh.
