MV Agusta has unveiled a new motorcycle - the Dragster 800 RC, which is based on the earlier Dragster 800 RR. The new addition to the MV Agusta family is powered by a three-cylinder 798cc engine which makes 140bhp at 13,100rpm.

Built on the basis of the Dragster RR, the MV Agusta 800 RC has a racing-derived counter-rotating crankshaft, LCD instrumentation, MVICS (Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System) electronics suite, with integrated eight-level traction control and Bosch ABS system.

Ride-by-wire offers four throttle maps, allowing the rider to customize engine response, torque delivery, throttle sensitivity and engine braking. An electronic quickshifter facilitates clutchless upshifts and downshifts.

Suspension consists of a 43mm upside down Marzocchi front fork and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock at the rear. The chassis is standard steel-tube trellis frame, with aluminium side plates and single sided aluminium swingarm. Braking is handled by Brembo calipers, gripping twin 320mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc on the rear wheel.

With a dry weight of 168kg, the MV Agusta 800 Dragster RC has a top speed of 245kmph and is expected to be unveiled for the public at the EICMA show in Italy. It's going to be a limited edition model though, with production limited to 350 units.
