Bajaj Auto has silently started the sales of the much awaited 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 in India after a brief hiatus. Priced at Rs. 96,453 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the update Pulsar NS 200 street fighter comes with a bunch of cosmetic changes and several new features. The new Pulsar NS 200 also returns to rival some new players in the market like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the recently launched Yamaha FZ 25. While the TVS Apache 200 starts at INR 90,015, the Yamaha FZ25 priced at INR 1.19 lakh (Both ex-showroom).

In terms of design and styling, the bike now comes in three new colour shades in dual tone options - Red-Grey, Black-Grey and White-Grey. The muscular stance of the naked street-fighter is further accentuated by the sharp colour accents. The bike gets the same beefy fuel tank with tank shrouds, split seats, sleek tail section and the similar 17-inch alloy wheels shod in MRF NyloGrip tyres. Other features include - a body colour belly pan, auto headlamps on (AHO) function and optional centre stand.

Mechanically, the new Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 comes with an updated 199.5 cc engine that is now compliant with BS IV emission norms like other Bajaj products. That said the single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor continues to offer the same power figures, churning out 23bhp and developing 18.3 Nm of peak torque, while mated to a 6-speed transmission. Sadly though, unlike the export model, we do not get fuel injection even as an option, which both the Apache 200 and the FZ25 have on offer. And also as opposed to our expectations, the bike doesn't get anti-lock brakes (ABS).
